Omeruo: Super Eagles Ready For Battle With England’s Quality Players

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has put the World Cup build-up game against DR Congo behind him, saying the focus is now on the match with The Three Lions of England on June 2 at the Wembley Stadium, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by the Congolese in the farewell match played in Port Harcourt on Monday.
The Chelsea star, who was on loan to Kasimpasa of Turkey last season, said the Super Eagles were happy with the support they got from the Port Harcourt fans on Monday and will work harder to make them happy against England.
“The match against Congo is gone and the focus is now on the England match,” the Super Eagles defender told CSN.
“The fans were fantastic but unfortunately they could not get the victory they expected. We are going to work harder to make sure we make them happy against England.
“It is a friendly match but we all know that each time we are playing against England, it is always tough because of the quality players in the two teams and our familiarity. So it is going to be very tough and we will do our best in the match.
While Nigeria face Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in the first round of the World Cup in Russia, England will battle Belgium, Panama and Tunisia.
