15 suspected armed robbers, cultists and drug dealers arrested in Ekiti

 


Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command have clamped down on a group of hoodlums in their criminal hideout in the Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti.

 

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abutu Sunday, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, July 19, said fifteen suspected drug dealers, armed robbers, and cultists were arrested during the operation carried out by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on July 13.


Those arrested include; Musa Madaki '35yrs', Abdullahi Umar '25yrs', Shola Adeyemi '43yrs', Hawalu Ali '45yrs', Usman Amisu '30yrs', Haruna Usman '20yrs', Yanusa Abubakar '25yrs', Usman Lawali '20yrs', Ajayi Opeyemi '20yrs', Toheeb Isa '21yrs', Ajiboye Michael '19yrs', Kayode Yinka '20yrs', Taiwo Michael '20yrs', Jimoh Zarheal '19yrs' and David Henry '36yrs'.


Items recovered from the suspects are two locally made single barrel guns, two battle axes, two locally made pistols, and some wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp. 

 

The suspects confessed to being members of the armed robbery gang, illicit drug dealers, and cultists.

 

DSP Abutu added that the suspects shall be arraigned accordingly as soon as the investigation is concluded.
